Dr. Chaney Ledet with Educator Certification and Advancement uses these books during her Principal Academy Seminars.
These three books have been utilized and undergird the principal academy seminars, primarily when dealing with equity in education. While Leverage Leadership deals with establishing a mission, vision and culture of high expectations, the other two books speak to the realities of how leaders must stand in the gap for students. Moreover, leaders should go beyond the campuses for our most fragile populations, African American, Hispanic, economically disadvantaged, and linguistically challenged. The other two books, Hope and Healing in Urban Education: How Urban Activists and Teachers are Reclaiming Matters of the Heart and Caste: The Origins of Discontent by Isabel Wilkerson deal with Social Emotional Learning, academic achievement, civic engagement, and political action.
